Dear Reader,
Welcome to the world of Sibuor; An African Love Story.
If you’ve found your way here, thank you. Whether you’ve just finished the book, are considering reading it, or simply stumbled across this page, I’m grateful you’re here.
Sibuor began with one thing, belief.
Belief that the words I had quietly written over many years deserved to exist beyond my world.
I have always found comfort in words. They are the place where I tell the truth most honestly and express the parts of myself I struggled to speak aloud. The love, the hurt, the hope, the joy, the disappointment, and the healing.
Some people capture memories with photographs.
I capture mine with words.
The Story Behind Sibuor

The first edition of Sibuor was born from youthful courage.
It was written simply because I believed in my work.
I didn’t know whether anyone would read it.
I only knew that these poems deserved a home.
Why a Second Edition?
Years later, I returned to Sibuor as a different woman.
I have changed. Life has changed me. This edition reflects that.
It is not only a collection of love poems. It is an ode to the woman I have become. A celebration of vulnerability. Of healing. Of choosing myself. Of beginning again.
Relationships have a way of introducing us to ourselves.
They reveal how we love. How we communicate. What we tolerate. What we fear. And ultimately, how deeply we value ourselves.
Through love, I met parts of myself I never knew existed. Some filled me with pride. Others challenged me.
There were moments I found disappointing, difficult, and uncomfortable. Yet within those same moments, I discovered patience, resilience, faith, and courage I never imagined I possessed.
Today, I love the woman I am becoming.
This second edition is a celebration of growth. Of love. Of time. Of womanhood.
Every day, I become someone new.

The Journey
This edition includes much more than poems.
You’ll discover:
- Letters to the Reader
- Tiny Markers
- Reader Prompts
- Blank Pages
- Sibuor Notes
Together, they transform the book from something to simply read into something to experience.
I hope it becomes a place where you not only discover my story, but remember your own.
